The Real Estate General Authority (REGA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, conducted 15 joint inspection tours in October. These tours included visits to 192 real estate establishments across the Riyadh Region, Eastern Region, Makkah Region, and Madinah Region, in coordination with the respective regional municipalities. The tours aim to ensure compliance with real estate legislation in general, and the Real Estate Brokerage Law in particular. They also address matters under the jurisdiction of the participating government entities, such as Saudization efforts and urban landscape improvements—a key goal under Saudi Vision 2030 aimed at enhancing quality of life.
REGA clarified that fieldwork is one of the key regulatory tracks it employs to oversee the real estate market. During the same period, its inspection teams conducted 19,633 field inspection operations, which led to the detection of 764 violating real estate advertisements in public areas. Additionally, REGA received 271 real estate reports through its various channels, all of which were reviewed and addressed. Meanwhile, electronic scanning operations exceeded 13,717 cases, forming part of REGA’s digital monitoring strategy that targets online channels and real estate platforms to verify the legitimacy of advertisements and ensure that digital real estate brokerage practices adhere to the relevant laws and regulations.
REGA urged all real estate brokers and service providers to adhere to the provisions of real estate laws and to take corrective action regarding any violations in order to avoid penalties. These may include warnings, license suspension or revocation, or financial fines. The law’s implementing regulations specify the types of violations and the corresponding penalties. REGA also encouraged citizens and residents to report any suspected real estate violations or real estate fraud through the official reporting channel on REGA’s platform or by calling the customer service center at (199011) for real estate-related inquiries.
